

Metro Transit Platform Extensions And Grade Crossing Upgrades Project
South Bay Signal, partnering with Premier Electrical Corporation, under general contractor Sheehy Construction Company, provided on-site signalman services for the Metro Transit Platform Extensions And Grade Crossing Upgrades Project in Minneapolis, MN. Work was performed around live trackage, following an aggressive schedule which included night and weekend work in all kinds of weather. Project work included:
Temporary signal relocations at 10 stations to accommodate platform construction
Permanent signal, TWC loop, and track circuit relocations at 10 stations following platform completion
Installation of TWC loops at the new American Boulevard Station
Installation of 42 wheel sensors and wiring of new wheel sensor processors at 12 grade crossings to provide island circuits for reverse run crossing operation
Pulling of new cables for relocated signals, TWC loops, and track circuits, and for new wheel sensors and crossing interconnects
Installation of new switch circuit controllers in 6 US&S T-20 electric locks for reverse switch point detection
South Bay Signal provided supervision of wiring and construction, testing of new and relocated signal equipment, preparation of signal installation and testing submittals/documentation, and redlining of signal drawings
